Home Buyer Questionnaire Template for Estate Agents
A home buyer questionnaire template tells an agent who is ready to buy and what they want before the first viewing: price range, mortgage status, whether there is a home to sell, preferred areas and when they want to move. Deoochform makes it free to customize, so edit the price bands and share it.

About this template
A buyer who says they want a three bedroom house somewhere nice has given you very little to work with. This questionnaire turns that into a price range, a finance position, a list of areas, a property type, and a ranked list of what matters most, which is enough to send listings that actually fit.
The finance and chain questions come early because they decide how serious a buyer is. A cash buyer with nothing to sell and a buyer who has not spoken to a lender yet need very different follow up, and the timeline question separates people moving this quarter from people who are just looking.
The ranking field asks buyers to put location, price, space and schools in order, which says more than a list of ticks where everything is important. Change the price bands to suit your market and add a question about parking or accessibility if your buyers ask for it.
Templates are a starting point, not legal or professional advice. Where a form carries consent, medical, or contractual wording, have somebody qualified review it against the rules that apply to you before you publish.

Frequently asked questions
- What questions should a home buyer questionnaire ask?
- The price range, how the buyer is paying, whether they need to sell first, which areas and property types they want, minimum bedrooms, what matters most, anything that rules a property out, and when they want to move.
- Why ask whether a buyer has a home to sell?
- A buyer who must sell first is part of a chain, which affects how quickly they can proceed and how a seller will view their offer. Knowing early lets an agent set expectations and prioritise follow up.
